Round 2 with the Nose!

Well, since my last post about Gwyn's "nasal" problem things have gotten dramatically worse. I took away all things furry and fuzzy so she went to other items. I discovered she was doing it while restrained in her crib, high chair or car seat. She was napping at my parents and Matt gave her a stuffed animal to help her go to sleep, I went in to check on her and what I saw was horrible. Her face was covered in blood and so were the sheets and the stuffed animal. After I pulled 3 tomatoes out of her nose, I have packed away the high chair and she now sits on phone books at the table where I can see everything! I went to Cleveland last week so we had lunch on the road...I pulled 6 pieces of chicken nuggets out at my girlfriends house. And no, she does not just sit there calmly and let me pull them out! I have to sit on her and have someone else hold her head still which doesn't really work that well. She is incredibly strong and screams until she turns purple. I know have a "kit" that I carry with me that includes, blue plastic tweezers, booger sucker, flash light, and saline spray.

I took her to the ear, nose & throat doctor again today and there were some things that I wasn't able to get out. The doctor was shocked at how often she has been putting things up there, I have been pulling things out every to every other day. He said that normally a kid will put something up there only once or twice, not constantly. He didn't know what to tell me on how to make her stop. The poor man was trying so hard not to laugh as Gwyn is screaming and struggling with all her might but when he pulled out fuzzies, stickers, and a whole pea, he lost it. The nurse was shocked at how strong Gwyn was, she had to take a break because she said she couldn't hold her anymore. I had to use my whole body to restrain her, I was sweating by the time we were done. Doctor told her, "Get a new habit, this is not a good one!"

I just don't know what I am going to do. She runs away shoves something up there and then runs up to me covering her nose and smearing blood on her face. It is so exhausting and stressful.
